New Rider Alert System Launches March 5
Sign up for Kitsap Transit alerts today

On March 5, Kitsap Transit plans to launch a new rider alerts platform, SimplifyTransit, that will allow riders to receive personalized text and email notifications for their bus and ferry routes.

Kitsap Transit plans to start sending alerts through SimplifyTransit starting March 5. We will stop issuing alerts through GovDelivery, our current platform, after March 4. However, customers can sign up to receive alerts and customize their subscriptions starting today!

Visit our Real-Time Trip Information page for details about the new features and our Rider Alerts sign-up page to subscribe to alerts.

Here are some key features of the new system:

  • More personalized alerts – Sign up to receive alerts only for the days of the week that you ride, and only for the services and stops you use.
  • Manage multiple subscriptions – Set up different subscriptions for different travel patterns, and individually pause them if you don't want to receive alerts for a certain period – like when you go on vacation!
  • Alerts in your language – Select Spanish or Tagalog to receive alerts in your preferred language! You can also change the language on our new Rider Alerts page with one click.
  • Stay informed with topics – Sign up to receive Kitsap Transit's Headways newsletter and informational alerts about board meetings or projects.

Future improvements: Live bus tracker and text for updates

  • Later this year, Kitsap Transit will launch a new live bus-tracking map to replace DoubleMap, which sunset at the end of 2024. Riders will be able to track their bus and plan trips on this website as well as Google Maps, Apple Maps, Transit app, and other third-party apps.
  • Kitsap Transit is also working on a project that would allow customers to text a phone number and receive information about their next bus arrival.

Thanks for your patience while we implement these upgrades, which we think will become the backbone of a more robust, easy-to-understand real-time passenger information system.
