Bainbridge Island Alternate Routes When WSF Runs Late – 9/30
Starting on Monday, Sept. 30, Kitsap Transit will operate alternate weekday routes on Bainbridge Island when Washington State Ferries (WSF) runs more than 10 minutes late.
When WSF runs more than 10 minutes late on weekdays during afternoon/evening hours, Kitsap Transit will combine bus routes serving Bainbridge Island. Passengers will be picked up and dropped off only along the routes shown, except Highway 305. Use Route 390 for stops on Highway 305.
- One bus will travel to the island’s North end and cover portions of Routes 94 and 96.
- One bus will cover the Central part of the island west of Highway 305 and portions of Routes 93, 95 and 106.
- One bus will travel to the island’s South end and cover portions of Routes 97, 98 and 99.
- These buses will depart the ferry terminal at the normal scheduled departure times listed in the schedule.
While three buses will operate the alternate routes, additional buses will be staged at Bainbridge Island Ferry Terminal to pick up passengers arriving on WSF. Kitsap Transit will combine bus routes as Ferry-Take-Home bus service.
Ferry-Take-Home bus service departs after the ferry arrives and passengers have loaded. These buses may deviate from the normal route to speed delivery of a passenger to a marked stop. These buses will drop passengers off only along the route(s) indicated at a stop nearest their home. Ferry-Take-Home buses do not make pickups after departing the Bainbridge Ferry Terminal.
