Bike Racks on Buses

You can take your bike along when you ride the bus. All buses in our Routed Service and many of our Worker/Driver buses have bike racks.  You load and unload your bike yourself. For safety reasons, the driver can't leave the bus to help you, but can offer verbal instructions.  Unfolding the rack and loading the bike safely takes only a few seconds, once you are familiar with it. To unload your bike you simply reverse the loading procedure.  There is no extra charge for the bike; you pay only the regular fare.

Click here to view a video demonstration on how to use the bike rack (2.8MB - AVI format).

Bikes on Kitsap Transit Foot Ferries

There is good news if you take a bicycle onto any of Kitsap Transit's foot ferries that run between Bremerton and Port Orchard. There is NO extra-fare for taking a bike onboard.  Kitsap Transit wants to encourage people to use bicycles and other alternative transportation. When more people begin using alternative transportation, other than driving alone, there will be less air pollution and traffic congestion.
